Disclaimer – I know absolutely nothing about architects or styles of architecture! My own personal opinion of memorable architecture that I see and love is represented below based on my recollection when visiting each of the cities. Open to change at any time…
.) VIENNA, AUSTRIA – Check out the Vienna sightseeing site for architecture for all the beautiful modern architecture combined with many historic buildings, fountains and bridges.
.) PARIS, FRANCE – Everywhere you look in Paris there are amazing sights – across the river, through narrow alleyways, etc. It’s just shocking to see how much there is and it’s overwhelming when you’re there. Here’s a site I found on some architecture info about Paris.
.) EDINBURGH, SCOTLAND – I felt as if I was stepping back in time when I walked through Edinburgh, to a time with castles, witches, and more. It’s breathtaking. Here’s some examples of Scottish architecture in the Royal Mile, Edinburgh’s center.
.) LONDON, ENGLAND – “London is not characterised by any particular architectural style, having accumulated its buildings over a long period of time.” (Wikipedia) However, there’s a mix of everything and now I see how much the city is changing. There are cranes everywhere and a brand new modern architecture transformation taking place in the city next to old historic places like the Tower of London. It’s fascinating, and I love walking around the city and seeing all the old mixed with the new.
.) MONACO – The Monte Carlo Casino pictured below is massive and ornate. Seeing a picture does not do the building justice. Next to the French Riviera, it’s a splurge of wealth and elegance. Some of the architecture info can be found by clicking on this link.
